Home made Sauerkraut ⭐️😊 Can't wait for this batch to be ready, the smell of fresh sauerkraut makes my mouth salivate instantly, you know it must be good. Making your own Sauerkraut is great, it's easy to do and can cost you as little as for $4 for two big jars . While the shop can cost you $15 per jar. All you have to do is sterilise your equipment with hot water before use. Finely slice your cabbage and pack it super tight into your jar . Add some salt (about a table spoon) and what ever herbs you like . Fill with water so the cabbage is covered and check daily for a week, to push the cabbage down and let the air bubbles escape. It is full of both pre and probiotics, great for digestive health ,energy, skin health ,weightloss and mental clarity. Did I mention, it tastes delicious!! Every culture has some kind of fermented food 🌿, so get into you 👍
The Importance of stomach acid and apple cider vinegar. 🌿 Did you know your stomach acid production can be weakened or not function properly. This happens when we are stressed and in the sympathetic nervous system, consuming cold foods, having a poor mineral diet or just due to old age. Our stomach acid is vital for our Heath by killing parasites and harmful bacteria in food, as well allowing us to absorb vital nutrients especially b vitamins and blood building nutrients. Key symptoms of stomach acid/hydrochloric acid deficiency: reflux and blood deficiency signs like vertical lines on the nails, poor digestion, poor energy and weight gain . To supplement and improve hydrochloric acid - have digestive enzymes, food grade hydrochloric acid supplements, zinc, or 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar with meals diluted with 6 tea spoons of water. Milk thistle is a great for the production of hydrochloric acid and liver health Consult with your herbalists before taking any supplements, to see if this is for you 🌿 Photo: @cypressbeautyco
Spring is the time of Liver health🌿 - In Chinese medicine we see the liver associated with so many things , like the eyes, tendons, blood, free flow of emotions and ambition. Imbalances of the liver often manifests as - headaches, frustration, feeling stuck, menstural symptoms, tinnitus and tendon issues. In spring young fresh greens and sprouts are abundant . Containing b vitamins , iron and much more for healthy liver function. B vitamins are used to treat headaches and migraines in both western and Chinese medicine. Last night I ate ox liver for the first time, purely for the health benefits, 100 grams of liver contains 99% of daily requirement of iron, 359% of vitamin A (for eye health ), 311% of B12 and 40 % of vitamin C plus important trace minerals. Tribal hunters would eat the liver first because they knew the health benefits to keep them strong and wild. Diversifying the diet and eating wild foods is definitely a key to improving our health. Creating a connection and understanding our natural food sources is vital for a healthy relationship with ourselves and this planet. 🌿 Photo by: @hudsonvalleytreehouse
Achilles tendonitis- Maybe you have had it or know someone that has had it. It can be a real issue especially when left untreated, tendonitis issues can progress to Tendonosis, this is when the inflammatory response slows down and weakness/degeneration occurs. If you have injuries it is better to get treatment earlier then later, soldering on and pushing through the pain can often lead to a longer recovery time and more complications. Having a diet that supports your recovery is very important, as there can be underlining issues to the injury. Treatments like acupuncture are have strong evidence for the treatment of pain. Tongue Diagnoses- In Chinese Medicine we use it all the time to tell what's happening inside of your body. We can tell if the liver is struggling with toxicity, if your digestion is not working properly, check if your iron/blood deficient and much more ! It definitely is one of my favourite tools as I can access a health situation so easily on myself and on my patients. A healthy tongue should look smooth even coloured like a fresh piece of cut meat. Not teeth marks, pale or purple , strange coatings or red spots. What does your tongue look like 🌿?

The last 3 days I have been practicing these push-ups for handstand conditioning, so i can press up, I have done handstands for a long time but never had the control to just press up, this move is almost like chaturanga but much harder. Any skill is achievable if you take your time and break down the movements into manageable progressions and be consistent🌿 Adding strength training is a great way to boost your Qi gong and meditation practices, the time you spend meditating should be equal to the time you exercise.🙏 Looking forward to achieving my goals ⭐️👍
Beautiful kelp washed up on the beach 🌊 There are three types of seaweed that I know washing up in the Mornington area. One of those I'll be inspecting is the bull whip kelp. The stalk and leaves can be eaten and prepared in many different ways. I'm really excited to get some wild kelp into my diet as kelp is considered the "most mineralised food" With high amounts of iodine great for thyroid function and energy. It also great for treating fungal and candida infections, strengthening the kidneys and lungs, increases depth of breath, restores tired muscles, assisting in both men's and woman's health disorders, to name a few! ⭐️

First day of spring 🌿⭐️ Ready to nourish and cleanse my body of the slower pace of winter and the heavy foods. All the wild greens are out and we should be out eating them. Lots of green veggies the more bitter they are the better!! The bitter flavours are great for stimulating our digestion and clearing out the liver. Dandelions are popping up everywhere and are great as a liver cleanser. @conorpreneur has already gathered a basketful! It's also time to get moving physically , physical movement is one of the best way to build energy and detox at the same time. As it warms up it's more encouraging to add more cardio as the harsh cold air is not affecting our lungs. Mentally it's time time for new beginnings, work projects and adventures. Love spring 💚💚
Enjoying the sun before the big rain ahead. Really loving the beach and looking forward to more out door time like this as the weather warms up. Acroyoga is a great way to build trust, connect and communicate clearly with lovely people. So grateful for this day with @laurencurtain . If your interested in seeing awesome acro skills check out my brother @the_nourishing_nomad 💫⭐️🌿
Ridining on the wind, the first Qi gong move we learnt when I was 12 🙏. Like all Qi the movements, they looks easy and simple but with practice it becomes much more ⭐️. Connecting with the movement and the moment creates a viscous feeling with the hands, connecting with the intention of movement one can gather ions from the ground and atmosphere. Movements like these are also great for cleansing and building up the middle dan Tian (our emotional centre).🌿 What was the first move you learnt?
You know you have been thinking about acupuncture a lot when you start dreaming of treatments, balancing meridians , working mirror images to treat pain🌿. So grateful for all the people that developed the skills for me to learn and so grateful to be helping people with this medicine ⭐️🙏 Photo by @simply_inspired_macrame.
Yesterday's handstand practice 🙏. Handstands are a great way to circulate our lymph and improve blood flow to the upper parts of the body including the thyroid. It's fun and great for our health 👍, what's your favourite balancing pose?⭐️
