Yet another wonderful gift of a vintage SL Brunette Skipper from "you know who you are"! Thank you so much! So, it dawned on me that last years Hallmark House Ornament might just be perfect scale under a tree for this years Christmas diorama. I dug one out of a pile and sure enough...perfect accessory! For those of you that already knew this I apologize for geeking out. For those of you that didn't know....and do stuff like this...have fun with it!
"The Evolution of Barbie". Free frame + 1991 Barbie Postcard book = ART? I say yasssssssssss. Was gonna keep it but already had an offer.
Who am I???? Who made me??? Why do I have nipples??? I'm a doll for chrissakes! Hahaha
Well hello random hibiscus flower stem! Saw this beauty today growing out ground behind my trash cans all by itself! Pretty! Wonder where it came from.
Ladies and gentlemen....the "beer can" grip.....giggle giggle
Bwahahahaha!!! So, this is called a "Sport Hands"!!! You're supposed to attach it on your folding beach chair to hold your fishing pole! The other hand has a grip to hold your can of beer. I'm just leaving this here.....do with it what you will your perverts!
Got this groovy vintage doll@Sears Beauty Salon today for only $10 bucks. I need to clean it up more and pop some batteries in it so that hopefully the "hairdryer" Still works. It's missing the pink sink and pink drawers but I still dig it.
My new FREE vintage snack/candy rack imma use for spray paint storage!!!! I've been eyeballing it for a few months when I found out our dealer was vacating her booth....so when I saw it getting wheeled out I asked if I could have it! So happy she said "yes"! Thanks Boo...you'll be missed at #oldmillantiquemall
And now...Sept 2017. Not quite a decade later...mom has been gone almost a full year. My "business" of reselling has literally taken over every space in my house. Part of me would luv to be able to afford a warehouse for all my thrifted treasures and vintage but another part of me would love to just burn this place to the ground and start all over again with nothing. To reclaim some order and just breath. I'm sure it's a mixture of depression, old age, and laziness...but this is my reality. What a mess.
The first incarnation 2009 of setting up my space. Reclaimed my German grandmothers mid century furniture she had given to my sister in the 1970s...but my parents had them recovered for me in 1982 as a gift. Everything else was thrifted I think (except the orange shag) I bought that in 2004 while working at Blueprint Furniture in Los Angeles.
Yaaasssss!!!!! Spotted this tiny tin cookie box house at work today locked in a case!!! I've never seen one like this before. Our German grandmother (Oma) would send big boxes of sweets and cookies to us for Christmas in wonderful big lithographed tin boxes but THIS little box is a treat for my eyes!!!!! #germany #germancookies #lebkuchen #vintage #oldmillantiquemall #tinhouse #cookies #lithography #weinachtsmarkt #christmas #oma #sold
Ok last post of Jon Whitcomb midcentury illustrations for now. Hope you've enjoyed them as much as I've had sharing them!
More glamorous midcentury illustrations from the artist Jon Whitcomb! Luv luv luv
My new obsession: the mid century genius illustrator Jon Whitcomb! 1906-1988 famous for All American glamorous young women. Stunning.
Super close up of a vintage faceted cheap disco ball ring...."I wanna live inside color". It makes me happy.
More treasures found on my thrift day. I'd spend my last dollar thrifting ...and usually do!
