I am so excited to share with you the results of my health screening!! I'm a doctor, I love numbers, and the numbers I heard yesterday are so awesome and will motivate me to continue my workouts!! Today I was extra tired and still, I got up and did it with the knowledge of changes happening in my body. First let's talk about my NON-FASTING BLOOD SUGAR. This test helps doctors look for diabetes. Last year, my level was 107 (totally normal--anything under 200 is normal). This year??? 90. And I had literally just drank a huge superfoods smoothie. This is considered NORMAL even if I had had nothing at all to eat that day!!! Why was it so low?? Muscles take sugar from your blood and use that sugar to fuel their contractions.
