Jesus was moved deeply by the sorrow and pain Mary felt after her brother Lazarus had died. . . She fell at His feet in deep despair as He arrived, and I imagine her yelling at Him - "If only you would have been here." . . And then He cried. The King of the Universe wept with Mary, deeply grieving the loss of her brother. But here's the thing about Jesus - He doesn't JUST sit with us, cry with us, and comfort us. . . Jesus got up, walked to the tomb, had the stone rolled away, and raised Mary's brother back to l i f e. He took her deep sorrow, and from it created deeper joy - He gave her a gift that perfectly filled that specific pain's horrible void. . . Even as He cries with us, His desire is to roll away the stone - to get right into the depths of our darkest pain, and bring out new, abundant, healed, restored l i f e .
