I guess I got the 'Golden Form' of this Mimulus cardinalis (Scarlet *ahem!* Monkeyflower) by accident. It was supposed to be my brilliant pop of color in front of a Black Eyed Susan Vine and Leucodendron 'Ebony' (that's a black foliaged Australian friend). Oh well. It's naturally a water plant in California, which I'm taking to mean non native garden plant in terms of water needs. Looks sort of like a fancy goldfish, doesn't it?
