Motivation Monday➡️Finding your balance while attaining your optimum fitness and wellness goals can be challenging! Even as a fitness guru I can find myself anxious about decisions when it comes to food. Having lived off a food scale for about two years and weighing & measuring most of my meals when I go out I know I’m sometimes “off” in my calculations. However- by making myself so aware of what’s actually in food, what 4oz of Chicken actually looks like, my options are almost limitless as to where I can eat for my daily caloric intake. I can’t stress enough, how important it is to get very familiar with correct portion sizes for YOU. But even with this knowledge I know I can still be “off” and sometimes I’m way over in my macros! What I have learned through much trial and error- is don’t stress!! We were NOT meant to live off food scales and weighing and measuring everything. There is a time and place for this- if you are in the beginning stages (new clients 👋🏼) of counting macros it is very important you do this to lead you to success down the road, but the whole purpose of it, is to allow FLEXIBILITY for long term. Macros is about being able to enjoy company with close friends while eating balanced. Over the weekend I was definitely over in carbs- some extra wine and maybe a cookie or two 😜 that’s OK! As long as you don’t let it turn into a binger, or hinder you from progress it’s ok to relax! The body progresses when allow some flexibility. When you treat it with love and respect, I promise it will be happy! Over in macros? Get back to your normal place the next day, move forward and don’t look back! Don’t do what I used to do- punish myself and body. Mentally and physically it only hinders you! So what you have a little extra one or two nights! As long as you are progressing overall is what you want! Progress not perfection. Go into this week mindfully- be aware of how you nourish your body, how you reward it- be thankful and your body will thank you 🙏🏼 #bodypositive
